A local club with a worldwide mission
Our story
The Kiwanis Club of South Oakland County was chartered in 2019 by a group of neighbors who believed their community's children deserved champions. Since then we've grown into a close-knit club within the Michigan District, Division 7 of Kiwanis International.
Kiwanis International has been around for more than a century, with clubs in communities all over the world. What ties them together is a single idea: when ordinary people organize around kids, extraordinary things happen. We bring that idea home to South Oakland County, Michigan.
We're entirely volunteer-run. Every member gives their time because they want to — and every dollar we raise goes back into local youth programs, not overhead.
What we believe
Kids need Kiwanis — and Kiwanis needs you
Every child deserves the chance to learn, play, create and grow up feeling supported. Too many kids slip through the cracks — in foster care, in families stretched thin, in schools where the arts are the first thing to go. We exist to close those gaps, one project at a time.
We can't do it alone, and we don't try to. The strength of a Kiwanis club is its members and neighbors pulling in the same direction. If that sounds like you, South Oakland County Kiwanis would love to meet you.

What is Kiwanis?
Kiwanis is a worldwide community of volunteers who are dedicated to improving the lives of children. Our club is the South Oakland County chapter of that global family, chartered in 2019.
Do I have to be a member to help?
Not at all. You can donate, volunteer at an event or follow along on Facebook any time. Membership is simply a way to go deeper if the mission grabs you.
Where does my donation go?
Straight into our local youth programs — initiatives like Fostering the Arts and Supporting Youth right here in South Oakland County.
When and where do you meet?
